![]() ![]() That is a big piece of why this bike is so unique (and fun). The 3" 29er Bontrager XR4 Team Issue tires inspire confidence. I don't have the skills to have ever bottomed out that bike, so I took out all the progression tokens (All 3 tokens come with the bike for your personal tunning preference). ![]() The bike was converted to tubeless and the fork was recently serviced. This is primarily to offset any costs associated with downgrading (example the carbon cranks required the BB to be upgraded to DUB which is something done professionally at bike shop).Įverything on the bike is included except for the pedals (extra tube, grips, carbon garmin mount). ***Note that if you want original parts back on, the upgraded replacement will not be coming along with the bike. If you prefer the original 175mm alloy cranks please let me know and I'll accommodate. I prefer slightly smaller cranks to avoid pedal strikes (note the pictures - not a single scuff on those cranks). Wheels and Tires (Non-Boost)with fresh sealant: Front: SLX Hub on a WTB Rim with a 2.4 Ardent. Most bikes this size come with 175mm cranks. For Sale is a Size Large Trek Stache 8 29er with Extras. Claimed weight is 555 grams but note these are 170mm. These are the Trutativ Descendant carbon crankset. For all you weight weenies this is a 155 gram saddle! I understand that saddles are a very personal thing so again, if you want me to put the original saddle back on please just say so. ![]() The saddle is the Fizik Gobi M1 7x9 carbon braided. The stem was upgraded from the original 60mm Bontrager stem to a very svelte Raceface Turbine 70mm stem (again the original can be put back upon request). If you want the original bontrager stem and bars let me know and I can put them back. Instead of nullifying the Knock Block (prevents the fork from damaging the frame), I bought the adaptor that allows you to use any stem with it (Knock Block still works). It was perfectly fine with 130mm, but more squish = better.Ĭheck out the primo ENVE carbon bars. On the other hand, a completely needless upgrade was bringing the travel on those very cool forks from 130mm to 150mm. The front rotors have been upgraded to 200mm giving you a ton of stopping power. Not an issue any more! I have fixed what Trek engineers should have fixed in the first place making this unicorn a killer trail bike (especially if you are a shit mountain biker like myself). The biggest issue with this bike was the woefully under powered front brakes. ![]()
